Training Policy

GENERAL

In order to ensure requests for organizational training are coordinated and arranged appropriately the BCMSA must ensure all parties are aware of the Training Policy as it is outlined below:

1. Training Requests
2. Training Confirmations
3. Invoicing
4. Cancelation
5. On-line Courses

1. Training Requests

Requests for onsite training can be made to the BCMSA Manager of Audit and Training Services via the Training Request Form.  Information required in the initial request includes:

  • Course name
  • Date(s)
  • Time (s)
  • Location (s)
  • Organization Contact Person
  • Specific trainer request, if any

A minimum of fourteen days advance notice is needed in order to communicate with contract trainer/training organization to confirm dates, times and locations.  This can be flexible depending on the nature of the request and urgency of the training.  All organizations requesting training will receive a copy of this policy at time of request.

NOTE:  Organizations requesting BCMSA arrange and organize an entire annual training calendar, or multiple courses, are asked to submit this request at least 30 days in advance of first scheduled course.

2. Training Confirmations

The organization contact person will receive an email confirmation at least nine days prior to course date from the BCMSA Office Manager.  All final course details (audio visual requirements, classroom set up, and any equipment specific to the training) are provided at this time.

Each organization must provide confirmed numbers of participants at least five days prior to course date.  If this is not provided, BCMSA will ship manuals equal to the course maximum (usually twenty) and will invoice the organization accordingly.

3. Invoicing

Invoices will be sent to the organization contact person within 21 days of training and are payable upon receipt.  BCMSA accepts Visa, Mastercard, Cheque or Cash as payment.

4. Cancelation

The BCMSA requires at least eight days to cancel or reschedule a course to avoid course fee.  Organizations will be invoiced in full for courses when the BCMSA is notified less than eight days prior to course date.

5. On-line Courses

Where a sliding scale price rate is available, the rate applies to each and every purchase; organizations that purchase in two or more blocks will pay the appropriate rate for that block of course keys.

Course Cancellations

BCMSA reserves the right to cancel any course if enrollment is too low. If a course is cancelled all registrants will be notified by email and receive a full refund.

Refunds

For individual enrollments, full refunds are available for all courses if requested one week prior to the day the course starts. 50% refunds are available for all courses if requested at least 48 hours prior to the day the course starts. Funds may be transferred to a future training being offered, one time only.

Eligibility for Training

It is a priority of the BCMSA to provide training to it’s members. If a session has space available after the registration deadline, a non member may apply to attend.
