Certification requirements differ depending on the number of employees. The organization must immediately inform the BCMSA if their small or large employer status changes (large employer is 20 or more employees). Use the BCMSA Registration Status Change Form for this purpose.
All COR participating organizations have the right to make a complaint or appeal regarding the handling of an audit, including that of the following:
- Conduct of the auditor
- Individual audit findings
- Final audit results

A limited scope audit can be used if a municipality fails its external audit, due to minor deficiencies in its health and safety management system or its stay at work/return to work system. The external audit score must have been at least 70%, and no more than 2 elements could have scored less than 50%. Use the Request for Limited Scope Audit Form and contact the BCMSA for a review of the situation.
