Sunshine has been working as a safety consultant for the last four years and prior to that a safety coordinator primarily in the forest industry. She is also a safety auditor for the BC Forest Safety Council and instructs Occupational First Aid and WorkSafeBC safety courses. Her strengths are creating health and safety programs to meet the specific needs of her client and creating simple techniques for effective safety compliance.

Ron is a university graduate and professionally certified in the practice of occupational health and safety, public health inspection and human resource management. He has more than 36 years of experience working in health and safety; including 19 years in health, safety and human resources in the municipal sector and 14 years with WorkSafeBC. He is currently owner of RPD Consulting Services, an occupational health and safety consulting firm providing services to clients in the BC municipal sector.

In June 2009, Ron led the District of Saanich to become the first municipality in BC to pass the WorkSafeBC COR OH&S audit.

John is an experienced professional in Occupational Health and Safety. He is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, a Certified Health and Safety Consultant and also Certified External Auditor for the construction industry.

His professional background includes twenty five years in the safety industry. He has served clients in forestry, mining, construction and municipalities. For the past eight years he has been working extensively with municipalities and regional districts. His experience has provided him with the unique ability to offer services at all levels of organization as well as a sound knowledge of all aspects related to Occupational Health and Safety. John is based out of Vancouver Island and his services are available province wide.

As a registered forester, David’s forestry career included implementing safety programs involving high risk field environments, machinery and manufacturing. David is an internal ISO 14001 and CSA Z809 auditor and is currently an external auditor for the BC Municipal Safety Association and the BC Forest Safety Council. He has been working with many clients in the local government, health care and forestry sectors in assisting them with their certification efforts. He believes in working with clients to integrate their health and safety program into their existing administration systems in order to help them achieve and maintain an efficient and effective certified safety program. Located in Richmond, B.C., he is willing to travel as required.

Leon is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and a Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC), with a two-year diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from BCIT. He has over ten years experience in OH&S and has worked in many different levels of government. Leon has work experience in many areas including commercial and residential construction, road construction and maintenance, manufacturing, landscaping, traffic management and control. He is willing and able to travel to all corners of the province.

Paige Knapman is a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) and has been involved in workplace health and safety for over 20 years with several industries including manufacturing, processing and local government.  Paige has more than ten years of safety management systems auditing experience with the Partnerships COR program across three provinces.  Paige is the Occupational Health & Safety Coordinator for the City of Courtenay on Vancouver Island and continues to offer her services as an external COR auditor on a limited availability basis.  Paige is pleased to have recently assisted the Cities of Nanaimo and Powell River to achieve their COR certification and has several professional references available.

Caleb is a 2001 graduate of BCIT’s Occupational Health and Safety program, achieving his Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.

He is currently the Health & Safety Supervisor with the City of Kamloops and has been involved in Municipal Health and Safety for the past 7 years. His experience includes residential and commercial construction and forestry.

Dean is a Registered Professional Forester and has worked in the BC and New Zealand forest industries since 1987. His experience is closely related to the municipal sector from a safety perspective due to the similar variety of operations that can occur in both forestry and municipal environments including manual labor, heavy machinery, working in proximity to public, and maintainingpublic values. Safety requirements are very similar from a legislative perspective. Dean is a certified external auditor for the BC Forest Safety Council and Construction Safety Network COR programs and has completed over 200 COR audits to date.
