Connection to Care Holiday Service Closure Notice – December 23rd-27th and January 1, 2025

December 2, 2024/in News & Updates

As we approach the holiday season, we would like to inform all engaged municipal employees about the scheduled service closures for Connection to Care and provide a reminder regarding the BCMSA and BCACC counseling and referral connections through the available pilot program.

Please note that Connection to Care will be closed from Monday, December 23rd to Friday, December 27th, and on Wednesday, January 1st, 2025. During this time, the call-in service will be unavailable. We recognize that the holiday season can be challenging, and we encourage you to take care of your mental health. Support will be available once services resume, and resources through Connection to Care will be accessible after the holidays. If you need immediate assistance and are experiencing a mental health crisis during our closure, please contact 911 or dial 1-800-784-2433.

Upcoming holiday service closure dates for Connection to Care:

  • Closed: Monday, December 23rd to Friday, December 27th;
  • Closed: Wednesday, January 1st, 2025.

While our service will be unavailable during the above-noted dates, we want to remind you that Connection to Care is designed to enhance access to mental health support connecting employees directly with counseling professionals, including master’s degree interns and Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC) once regular service resumes.

As the holiday season can bring unique challenges for mental health and wellness, we encourage you to reach out for support. Whether due to stress, loneliness, or other concerns, please remember that Connection to Care is available to help, providing a compassionate space to discuss your needs.

How to Access Connection to Care:

  • Dial 778-247-2273 (CARE), available Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. where you will be connected to a professional for immediate assistance.

The pilot program will be active from May 2024 to December 2025. For more comprehensive information, please visit the Connection to Care website or reach out to programs@bcmsa.ca.

We wish you a safe, restful, and happy holiday season!
