Small Municipal Health and Safety Program!

WorkSafeBC Standards and Guidelines for the Certificate of Recognition Program defines a small employer as one with less than 20 employees.  The Village of Valemount has compiled their Safety Program into a single document, and we are fortunate to be able to share it!  Sample Small Municipal Safety Program   Please note:  The Village of Valemount utilized the services of a consultant to assist in areas of the safety program.  Posting this document here, does not indicate an endorsement by the BC Municipal Safety Association of that consultant.

Small employers who wish to participate in COR follow a slightly different process than large employers – the audit tool is simplified, and the audit may be completed by their own trained staff.  For more information, see http://www.bcmsa.ca/certificate-of-recognition-program/small-employer-audit-tool/ .

PROTECT YOUR MUNICIPALITY from contractor coordination liability!

A recording of the webinar is now available. The following are supporting documents to the webinar:

TRAFFIC CONTROL AND WORK ZONE TRAINING

WorkSafeBC to date only recognizes one source for Traffic Control Person Training.  For information on this process, please visit BC Construction Safety Alliance.

This half-day program will provide staff and supervisors with the information they need to set up a Work Zone safely, in compliance with the Ministry of Transportation Manual for Work on Roadways, without Traffic Control People.  If you have qualified in-house staff to train the session, the manuals are available here.  If you would like us to present it for you, contact Cathy Cook.
